This presentation titled the “The Widow in White” is a true story of two men named Roberto Trifiletti and Giovanni who were both born in near-by towns of Novara and Milazzo, Sicily. After many years, these two individuals meet on May 4, 2005 at the Mandarin a Chinese restaurant overlooking the Jefferson Monument in Washington, D.C. The meeting unlocked the tragedy that they had hidden for many years. They both realized what they had done and how they wanted forgiveness and to put closure to their life before death. Their memories as time went by were placed in a storage space that would soon be forgotten. After a long time they discover their past life file that they had originally forgotten and they soon realize there were many things that they had not forgotten. They grieved and their lives began to take another turn. After the meeting they start thinking of death and the problems that they have caused. The Day of May 4th, 2005 was the day when these two individuals were able to share their guilt and both wondered if God would forgive them. The presentation briefly describes the migration of many men and the hardships of women left behind (Widow in White) in Southern Italy. The presentation describes how these two men want to achieve the four basic things in their lives before death: love, forgiveness, con- quering fear and closure. This presentation “The Widow in White” is tied to the 2012 Acad- emy Award in Hollywood documentary that Mr. Robert Trifiletti participated titled “God is the Bigger Elvis.” This documentary deals with the actress, Mother Dolores Hart. This one of five documentaries was nominated for the Academy Award 2012.
